Hakuba Snowshoe Tours
A world away from the resort
Snowshoe Tours are a great way to experience a world away from the crowds and lift-lines and explore the silence of Hakuba’s more removed areas. The Hakuba area has endless trails on mountain ridges or through old growth forests and shrines, with truly some of the best Alpine views in all of Japan.
If you’re coming over the Christmas break, be sure to book early for our sellout Christmas Day Snowshoe Tours featuring mulled wine and hot cocoa.
As well as Group Half-Day and Private Half & Full Day Snowshoe Tours, we also offer Evening Snowshoe Tours with chocolate fondue.
Group Morning Tours
Experience a world away from the crowds and lift-lines and explore the silence of Hakuba’s more removed areas on snowshoes. Joined by one of our friendly guides, you’ll don snow-boots and snowshoes and venture off into the snowy forests of the valley. Along the way you can likely see many animal tracks, make snow angels, have some fun playing in the snow and take a little tea & snack break too. Depending on the weather that day, we may be able to take one of the gondolas up as well to get even better views.
Private Half & Full-Day Tours
If you and your group would like to arrange a private guide to lead you on some fun snowshoe adventures, these are the tours for you. Take the day at your pace and travel into some truly spectacular scenery of the snowy Japan Alps. It is sometimes nice to take a break from the busy ski slopes and explore mountainous terrain where few people travel.
If you want to see magnificent panoramic alpine views then our Full Day tour is for you! All our full day tours are “Private” tours, so it’ll be just your friends or family and a hearty picnic lunch is provided on the tour. Both Half-Day and Full-Day Private snowshoe tours include complimentary hotel pick up and drop off service.
Christmas Day Tours In Hakuba
The Christmas Day Snowshoe is a great activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family from ages 3 and up. On this non strenuous but very fun trip into the Japanese winter wonderland you can relax sipping hot mulled wine over a brandy Christmas cake while the children search for presents dropped by Santa on his whirlwind tour of the Japan Alps.
Evening Tours & Fondue in Hakuba
Night time in Hakuba. You can stay in your accommodation, which is always a nice chill way to unwind, but if you want to get out and about your options are a bit more limited. There are a lot of great restaurants, but eating as a form of entertainment isn’t the best for the body. You could visit one of the many popular bars in town, but until they ban smoking inside you might not last long. Or you could get out on one of Evergreen’s night snowshoe tours and create memories that will stay with you for years to come. We at Evergreen are happy to guide you under the bright stars of Hakuba. The walk is not strenuous, but just enough to work up an appetite for dessert fondue under the stars / falling snow. It is not unusual to see tracks of rabbit, fox, tanuki (raccoon dog) and kamoshika (Japanese serow) while out on the tour.
“What a blast! Thanks for a great snowshoeing experience. The scenery was beautiful and the guides were awesome!”MAUDE
